OSHA: more scrutiny and more penalties possible for the oil and gas industry

You are fully committed to safety, create and implement a full blown behavior based system with continuous tracking and improvement.  You hold daily safety talks and all crews perform their JSA’s before EVERY job.  You thought you were going above and beyond the industry standard, not to mention all OSHA regulations.  Now, OSHA can still add you to the SVEP (Severe Violator Enforcement Program) just because you are in the oil and gas industry with NAICS codes and associated sub codes of 211111, 213111 and 2131112.  If even one of your job sites gets put into this program, all of your job sites could be drawn in as well.  Be aware of this announcement and educate your operators.
