New Texas Gun Laws: What They Mean for Employers

Many businesses have several questions on the new Texas Gun Law that went into effect Friday, January 1, 2016, and I am sure several more questions on this topic will come up over the next couple of weeks.  Some business are already addressing open carry for their employees and the general public.  Employers wishing to prohibit open carry should address in a policy to their employees and the proper signage if open to the general public.  The signage prohibiting open carry is the 30.07 sign.  30.06 signage is for concealed carry.  For business that already displayed the 30.06 sign, the verbiage has changed (slightly), and a new sign is recommended.
